As we ease into spring, some of us may notice we’re feeling a little more achy than usual. It can range from just being a little stiff in the joints when we first get out of bed, to feeling a bit sluggish all day long. The basic answer to this problem is a change in humidity. As the snow melts, it causes the air to becomes more saturated with water (increasing the humidity) and allowing many types of molds and bacteria which were trapped under the snow all winter, to be released into the air. A change in humidity and/ or barometric pressure is usually felt by many people. Ever have a knee act up right before a rain storm? You know what I mean then 🙂
Good news is I found a recipe that works great! I actually stumbled across it last winter while we were painting our house. My body was an absolute wreck. I hurt from head to toe from standing on a ladder all day and reaching with a paint brush above my head for hours at a time. When we were done for the day, I poured myself a warm tub full of water, added 1/3 cup Arm and Hammer Baking Soda, 1/3 cup Epsom salt (you can also add 3 drops Lavendar Essential Oils for soothing dried or irritated skin. It also helps you relax.) I laid in the tub for 15 minutes then went to bed. In the morning, I slowly got up, waiting for the aches and pains to start…. and they didn’t!! I did this same thing the next night (because we had to paint all day again) with the same results- no pain! I’ve used this recipe many times since then for everything from working out too much, riding horse, getting over the flu, change in seasons, etc.. and found it works wonders. I hope it helps you too 🙂
